How is the network coverage in the Netherlands (and the EU)?
Odido has a nationwide 5G network. About 98% of the Dutch population lives in a Odido 5G coverage area. Besides 5G, Odido also has a nationwide 4G and 3G network. The 2G network has now been turned off.
Our mobile network has been named "Best tested mobile network in the Netherlands" 5 times by the testing authority Umlaut. Out of a total of 7 mobile network tests that Umlaut has conducted in the Netherlands since 2015, Odido was named "Best in Test" 5 times in a row from 2016 to 2021. In the latest network test in 2022, Odido achieved the score “excellent”.
In other European countries, you can use the networks of our roaming partners. The quality of the local network depends on your location and the provider you are connected to.
Can I use my mobile phone on the Odido network?
Would you like to use your own mobile phone on our network? Mobile telephony in the Netherlands uses the GSM network. Mobile phones that use the CDMA network (see a list) are normally also suitable for GSM.
Can I transfer my foreign phone number to Odido in the Netherlands?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. If you have a subscription/Prepaid account with a Dutch provider, you can’t port a foreign phone number to it.
Dutch mobile phone numbers start with 06. If you take out a Data Only subscription (suitable for tablets), the phone number of the SIM card starts with 097. If your current provider is also Odido (outside the Netherlands), then the same applies to you as above.
What do I need to set up a contract at Odido?
A Odido contract requires the following:
A residential address in the Netherlands
A Dutch bank account*
You probably do not have Dutch ID, in which case the following applies:
You can conclude a Sim Only contract (without a device).
If you want a new phone with your contract, you’ll have to pay for it in full immediately upon purchase. Monthly instalments are not possible.
* With a foreign account number, you can enter into a Sim Only contract under certain conditions. Please contact Odido Service for more information.
I’m only here temporarily/I do not want a contract. What can I do?
No problem, you can buy a Prepaid card and top up your credit easily. We also offer Prepaid bundles, so that you can call, text and use the Internet at an affordable price.
You might also be interested to know that our subsidiary Tele2 offers contracts that can be cancelled monthly. So, you're not tied to anything (only possible with Dutch ID).
What do you offer for roaming/international calls?
Of course, it's important to keep in touch with your friends and family. So, find out the rates for calling/texting from the Netherlands to another country. The charges are almost never included in your normal bundles. (Calls from the Netherlands to another EU country are also not included in your bundle.)
Tip: we have an add-on that allows you to make unlimited calls from the Netherlands to EU countries and the United States for a few euros a month.
Will you be crossing the Dutch border? With a Odido subscription you can also use your call, text and Internet bundles in EU countries. (With unlimited Internet in the Netherlands, you'll get a few gigabytes in the EU.) Outside the EU, different rates apply for calling and texting. Buy a Data Pass for Internet access outside the EU.
Does Odido the Netherlands offer support in other languages?
This page is in English, but the rest of the website is in Dutch. Our Odido Service staff also speak English (basic level). Our Odido app is available in English.

Do you offer a phone repair service?
If your phone is broken, you can get it repaired through us. An authorized repair partner will assess the damage and repair your phone if it is covered by warranty.
We also offer additional insurance policies that give you better damage coverage and options.
