De eerste Grand Prix is op 20 maart in Bahrein. Met de nieuwe regels en de aanpassingen aan de auto\u2019s als gevolg daarvan, moeten de auto\u2019s dichter bij elkaar kunnen komen. Met andere woorden: meer inhaalacties, meer gevechten, meer vuurwerk. Maar hoe wordt dit alles in beeld gebracht? In deze Business Blog leggen we je er alles over uit!<\/p><p>Topsport heeft publiek in de hele wereld. Miljoenen mensen kijken naar grote sportevenementen zoals de Olympische Spelen, Roland Garos en het WK Voetbal. Ook de Formule 1, met haar 23 races, heeft miljoenen fans. Maar het in beeld brengen ervan zit veel moeilijker in elkaar dan bij de meeste sportevenementen. Waar je bij een voetbalwedstrijd maar \u00e9\u00e9n bal en een veld hoeft te filmen, moet je bij een Grand Prix 20 wagens en een kilometerslang veld in beeld brengen. Een chaotische klus waar honderden professionals aan meewerken. Dean Locke is Formula 1 Director of Broadcast &amp; Media en geeft tijdens de races leiding aan dit team. In een interview aan <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/f1chronicle.com\/how-a-formula-1-race-is-televised\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F1 Chroncile<\/a> legt hij uit hoe wordt bepaald wanneer welk gevecht in beeld gebracht wordt. Locke: \u2018Wat we eigenlijk hebben, zijn lagen van submixen. De herhalingen worden gedaan door een replay-regisseur, de actie op de baan wordt gedaan door een track-regisseur en we hebben een speciale regisseur voor onboard-beelden. De hoofdregisseur brengt dat allemaal samen en combineert pitstraatcamera\u2019s die de pitstops in beeld brengen. Als laatste hebben we ook nog een team dat naar het grotere geheel kijkt: hebben we genoeg van de kopgroep gezien, moeten we teruggaan naar specifieke gevechten, moeten we strategische beslissingen opnieuw bekijken om dingen beter uit te leggen?\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><strong>471 miljoen kijkers over de hele wereld.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Om alles rondom elke race goed vast te leggen, heeft Locke\u2019s team 90 camera\u2019s en zo\u2019n 80 kilometer aan kabel die ruim 430 uur aan live televisie per seizoen uitzenden. Al deze beelden komen in het F1 Broadcast Centre samen, waar deze dan weer naar zo\u2019n 471 miljoen kijkers wereldwijd uitgezonden worden. Het Event Technical Center (ETC) wordt ter plaatse gebruikt bij elk race-evenement en haalt content, gegevens en feeds binnen die worden doorgestuurd naar het Remote Technical Center (RTC) in Engeland. Om de genoeg reservekopie\u00ebn te maken, gebruikt de ETC een extra laag om ervoor te zorgen dat belangrijke services, zoals de internationale feed en telemetrie, de hele tijd kunnen doorgaan als er een storing optreedt in de hoofdverbinding naar de RTC. In deze video laat Locke zien hoe het <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UucBA8MkLRY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F1 Media &amp; Technology Centre<\/a> er vanbinnen uitziet:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Enorme operatie.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Tijdens een Grand Prix werken in de RTC in Kent ruim 165 medewerkers aan de live-registratie. Ook hier vindt ieder weekend een enorme operatie plaats. De meeste verwerkings- en publicatiesystemen zijn door coronamaatregelen verplaatst van de ETC tijdens de race naar de RTC in het Media &amp; Technology Centre. Zo ook de herhalingen, remote tracking en kleurcorrectie van alle camerabeelden. In de RTC worden meer dan 150 op maat gemaakte softwaresystemen gebruikt, op ruim 1200 computers. Dit is gelijk aan ongeveer 4700 GHz aan verwerkingskracht, 4,5 TB RAM en ongeveer 150 TB aan opslagruimte. De opstelling bestaat uit 2160 apparaten, 415 monitoren voor 53 operationele posities, elk met een koptelefoon en bord om met elkaar te praten.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Haal jij dit Formule 1-spektakel ook naar je huiskamer? <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Het zijn niet alleen de Formule 1-teams die altijd op zoek zijn naar de laatste technologische vernieuwingen om hun auto\u2019s beter te maken. Ook de Formule 1 zelf zorgt ervoor dat steeds grenzen opzoeken als ze races in beeld brengen.
