Zijn grootste droom? Voedselafval oplossen. Maar tot het zover is, is voedselafval zoveel mogelijk verminderen het doel. Hoe? Door de technologie-oplossing die zij hebben ontwikkeld toegankelijk te maken voor elk restaurant. Daarvoor is een goed, snel en betrouwbaar netwerk essentieel. Niets houdt hem tegen met Odido Business. <\/p><p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/orbisk.com\/nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orbisk<\/a> maakt voedselafval in de foodservice-industrie inzichtelijk door het gebruik van kunstmatige intelligentie, namelijk met beeldherkenningstechnologie. Olaf: \u2018Wij plaatsen in een afvalbak in een horecaonderneming een weegschaal en camera. Die camera maakt elke keer als er iets weggegooid wordt een foto. Olaf: \u2018Je zou het kunnen zien als een IoT-oplossing. Daarbij is connectiviteit erg belangrijk. De intelligentie van de apparatuur en de realtime verzonden informatie bieden restaurants inzicht: in ons systeem zien zij direct waar hun structurele verliezen zitten en hoe ze dat op kunnen lossen. Zo helpen we hen de strijd aan te gaan met voedselafval.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Voedselverspilling met data verminderen.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>De oprichters wilden iets in de duurzaamheidsindustrie doen, met als uitgangspunt hun expertise: procesoptimalisatie op basis van data. Ze komen alle 3 uit het bedrijfsleven. Olaf en medeoprichter Richard Beks werkten bij Ahold, dus ze wisten ook al het een en ander over voeding. \u2018We zagen dat het er in de retailindustrie vrij professioneel aan toe ging wat betreft voedselverspilling verminderen, maar in de horeca nog niet\u2019, vertelt Olaf. \u2018Dat is daar ook moeilijker, maar de noodzaak is er: het moest anders. Dat zijn wij gaan doen.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Win-win-win.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Voedselverspilling heeft niet alleen enorm veel impact op de wereld, het kost ook veel geld. Dat geeft extra energie om te veranderen. Restaurants kunnen veel besparen op de inkoopkosten. Zo zorgt een vermindering van voedselafval voor een verhoging van zowel rendement als duurzaamheid. Win-win. En dat ze in november de ASN Bank Wereldprijs in de wacht sleepten met hun slimme voedselafvalmonitor \u2013 na zware tijden voor de horeca \u2013 sterkt ze in waar ze mee bezig zijn. \u2018Het is een erkenning van ons product\u2019, zegt Olaf. \u2018Aangemerkt worden als Duurzaamste start-up van Nederland is voor ons natuurlijk heel veel waard.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Groot dromen.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Zijn uiteindelijke droom is dat hij op een dag voedselafval kan oplossen. Dat voedselverspilling niet meer hoeft te bestaan door hun technologieoplossing of door toekomstige idee\u00ebn die ze gaan ondernemen. Maar dat is nog ver weg. Gelukkig kan Olaf zijn droom opdelen in etappes. Hij is trots dat Orbisk nu al een hele grote stap zet in het verminderen van voedselafval: \u2018Mijn droom voor nu is dat onze technologie er voor iedereen is, zodat bijna ieder restaurant hiermee kan werken en zo grip krijgt op voedselafval. Ik ben gewoon heel erg enthousiast over het inzetten van technologie om wereldproblemen op te lossen.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Continu verbonden.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Altijd online zijn is voor Orbisk erg belangrijk om de slimme voedselverspillingsmonitor zo goed mogelijk te laten werken. Een goed internetnetwerk is de verbinding van hun technologieoplossing; zonder cloud geen inzicht in voedselafval. \u2018We hebben 24\/7 een snelle en stabiele verbinding nodig om de apparatuur te laten communiceren met ons, zodat we iets met de data kunnen.
